We've got faces for radio, don't we?
In this era of multimedia, WBRS believes in enhancing the listening experience by giving you a peek behind the curtain at our studios! To that end, we've got four webcam feeds set up...just click an icon above to view them in a new window.
- Studio 1 - static image : This is our "air studio" where the DJ's spin the tunes every day. The image will
automatically update every 30 seconds, conserving bandwidth.
- Studio 1 - live video: Same as the static image, but this is a live streaming JPG video feed. If your computer asks you to install an Axis control, click "yes" (we use Axis webcams). Limited to 10 simultaneous users due to bandwidth concerns.
- MPRcam - static image : This is the "Multi Purpose Room", direct below WBRS's studios in the Shapiro Campus Center. Every week WBRS broadcasts our live music show The Joint from here, and you can see the band play live. The cam's got remote control so the live music engineer may choose to aim it at the band, but otherwise the cam usually pans around the room on an automatic schedule. The image will automatically update every 30 seconds, conserving bandwidth.
- MPRcam - live video: Same as the static image, but this is a live streaming JPG video feed. If your computer asks you to install an Axis control, click "yes" (we use Axis webcams). Limited to 20 simultaneous users due to bandwidth concerns.
Due to DJ safety concerns we have instituted password protection on our webcams. If you're a friend, parent or loyal listener of the DJ on the air, just call in to the DJ line (781-736-5277) and ask for the username & password, and they'll give it to you. Be nice to the DJ, or you won't get the password. And if you're really mean to the DJ, he or she will mock the crap out of you on the air. Remember we've got caller ID in those studios! :-)
The Studio-Cam is an Axis 2100 fixed network webcam. The MPR-Cam is a Axis 213 PTZ, a pan/tilt/zoom remote-control network webcam.
