I know this happened a while ago, but it's still worth seeing.

MLB Awards
Yesterday we all heard about Dustin Pedroia winning the AL Rookie of the Year, which was a no brainer to most people. However, the more controversial voting lied the NL ROY race where Ryan Bran edged Troy Tulowitzki. The numbers are similar, though Tulo played in 40 more games than Braun. Nobody argues that Bruan posted some great offensive numbers, but he also had 26 errors at 3rd base in less than 115 games, while Troy Tulowitzki posted the best fielding percentage ever by a rookie shortstop.
Personally, I think the right calls were made since 34 home runs is a big number by a rookie. Sure it's not all about offense, but that's what fans look at.
Additionally, today we learned that CC Sabathia beat out Josh Beckett for the AL Cy Young race. Clearly, if the postseason counted towards the Cy Young race, Beckett would have won because he was amazing and the playoffs and CC was garbage. In fact, C.C. Sabathia is garbage. He's fat slob who's numbers weren't much better than Josh Beckett's numbers.
Josh Beckett should have won the Cy Young because he once said this:
"Well, if frogs had wings they wouldn't bump their butts when they hop."

What a Day!
Some thoughts from today's football action:
1. Adrian Peterson is a freak.
2. Brett Favre is good again, Packers 7-1
3. Did Detroit really win again?
4. Dallas is by far the class of the NFC.
5. New England at Indy was one amazing football game.
1) Peterson broke the all time single game rushing record with a 296 yard break out game. Well, I guess it isn't a breakout since he had a 200 yarder earlier in the season. Regardless, this kid's numbers are already good enough for Rookie of the Year. Over 1,000 rushing yards in just 8 NFL games is absolutely incredible. This kid has become an instant stud, too bad his team doesn't have a QB.
2 and 4) Who would have thought that the two best teams in the NFC would be the 7-1 Green Bay Packers and the 7-1 Dallas Cowboys? Maybe you would have thought Dallas, but certainly not Green Bay. And what the hell happened to Philly? Romo went crazy on them after getting a contract extension last week. I can see these teams playing each other in the NFC title game if Favre and Romo both stay healthy.
3) Maybe Jon Kitna is not as dumb as we thought when he predicted 10 wins. Though, I suppose he was really saying they would be disappointed if they did not win 10 games, which of course is understandable since 10 wins in the NFC is probably a playoff spot, and you always want to make the playoffs. Tell you what though, 6-2 is no fluke, no matter who is on your schedule. You can only play who's there anyway.
5) The Patriots and Colts gave viewers one of the best games in NFL history. Neither team was able to dominate the other. Just when you thought one team would break away, the defenses stiffened up and wouldn't allow it. Adam Vinatieri missed his first ever FG in a dome, and Peyton Manning blew it at the end while Tom Brady drove his team down the field for two touchdowns late in the game to win it 24-20. Oh and I will add that the referees in this game were absolutely terrible. Of course I didn't notice any calls that went NE's way that shouldn't have, but I did see 3 terrible calls. Two pass interference calls that shouldn't have been called, and one that should have. Whatever, at least Tommy was able to overcome Peyton's paying off of the officials. It is expected that these teams will meet again this year, and we shall see who prevails at that time.
In the end it was a great day in the NFL and hopefully tomorrow's Monday Night game is a thriller as well.
