These shows make up the bulk of the regular music programming at WBRS. And, if there's something you want to hear, always feel free to call in as requests are always welcome!
All Genre All NightEvery day, 2am - 6am
This is your chance to challenge us. Through this entire guide, you've been hearing us talk about how diverse we are. Call up and make a request and see if we can play it. All the songs you can't find anywhere else.
Alphabet SoupMon - Fri, 6am - 8am
If you like the Muppets, the music of Disney, or stories from all over the world, this is the show for you. It's not only for kids before they go to school in the morning, but also for the kid in each and every one of us. Or at least in all of us that are up before 8 in the morning.
Breakfast SerialMon - Fri, 8am - 10am
Wake up to the exact music you want to hear. We know itUs the music you want to hear because you tell us what to play. Also, tune in at 9am for a morning news and weather update.
True BluesMon - Thu, 10am - noon
Four days a week we bring you every shade of blue we can find, from the up and coming new artists to the ones that inspired them.
Jazz CafeteriaMon - Thu, noon - 2pm
We take you through Jazz. All of it. Everything from the classics to the latest releases.
MindscapesMon - Thu, 2pm - 3:30m
We fill your early afternoon with a mix of classical, folk, new age, 20th century and other ambient musics, with just a touch of spoken-word thrown in.
Angst in the AfternoonMon - Thu, 3:30pm - 5pm
Angst is our way of keeping all the rock, techno, rap, industrial and experimental fans up-to-date by playing only the very latest releases.
Mass ProducedMon - Thu, 5pm - 6:30pm
WBRS puts local music in prime-time. Tune in to hear bands from the local area, and from all over Massachusetts. Or you can call in to request your favorite local bands.
HomelandFri - Sat, 10am - 1pm
Ethnic music from around the world. There really isnUt any other way to describe it.
Southern RailFri - Sat, 6:30pm - 8pm
Contemporary bluegrass, folk and country, mixed with a variety of oldtime, acoustic and traditional music.
Con Sabor HispanoSat - Sun, 5pm - 7pm
A broad selection of Hispanic music and topics sent to you with more energy than your stereo may be able to handle.

Specialty Shows

These once-a-week shows provide a chance for us to highligh just a few sections from our vast music library.
Magical Secret ShowMon, midnight - 2am
Imagine Mozart overlaid with a touch of hard-core, but the hard-core seems to be playing backward, and in the background you can almost make out what sounds like Eric Idle prattling on about a flock of sheep up in a tree. All this and more.
Black Jack DavyMon, 8pm - 10:30pm
A WBRS tradition for nearly 20 years, tune in for the finest in modern and traditional musics from England, Ireland, Wales, France and Brittany.
Leo-Ego Anti-Video Radio ShowMon, 10:30pm - midnight
Tune in and hear locally composed electronic music designed to accompany the muted television program of the 90's.
Techno-HaZardTue, 8pm - 9:30pm
Easy listening for the modern era.

We play the music straight out of our mailboxQsometimes you can even hear the cellophane in the background.

Folk and acoustic music, traditional and contemporary, including the latest releases by local and national artists, rare live cuts recorded at WalthamUs late lamented Watch City Coffeehouse, selections from our huge archive of vinyl dating back to the 1950s and more.

Every week hear a sample of our collection, limited not necessarily by genre, but by some characteristic normally of absolutely no consequence.
Reggae Dance PartyFri, 5pm - 7pm
Our in-house dance specialists will deliver a beat guaranteed to make you want to get up and dance along.
Slice of BostonFri, 7pm - 9pm
We take you up close in the New England music scene with music from, talk about, and interviews with New England artists.

Drama of all types, from opera and Broadway to Poetry and spoken word. Just about the only thing we don't do is mime.

Greek music along with Hellenic poetry, history and folklore.

We bring you a wide range of heavily cultured RockI Music for hard times.

This is your chance to hear all the great songs from soundtracks from film, theatre, and television.

Modern and traditional Haitian Gospel.

Join us for the best Israeli programming to be found in the region. New and old music, conversation, live reports from Jerusalem, and exclusives on concerts and productions from Galei Tzahal.
The Yiddish HourSun, 1pm - 2pm
60 minutes of news, music, humor, poetry, intervies and commentary. All in Yiddish, from all over the world.
Act OneSun, 2pm - 3pm
This hour brings you the songs from musicals you love, along with behind the scenes information from our knowledgeable DJ's.
The Laughing SwordsmanSun, 3pm - 5pm
We offer East Asian music and culture every Sunday evening.
The Missing LinkSun, 10pm - midnight
An 80's show featuring underground, new-wave, Brit-funk with an emphasis on connecting the 80's with the 90's.

Live Music

WBRS brings live music to the greater Waltham community four times a week. All performances take place in the Winer Wing of the Usdan Student Center at Brandeis University (call for directions). All shows are free and open to the public of all ages.
The JointTue - Thu, 9:30 - midnight
Tune in three times a week for original live music, performed by the very people who wrote it.
The CoffeehouseFri, 3pm - 5pm
The Coffeehouse gives cover bands as well as original artists a chance to strut their stuff for our listening audiences. And, as the name implies, we have coffee courtesy of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters and awesome bagels from RosenfeldUs in Newton.

News and Talk

As part of our commitment to the community, weUre pleased to offer a comprehensive news show 4 evenings a week, as well as updates weekday mornings at 9am on Breakfast Serial. We also have several call-in shows that allow community members to express their views on almost every subject imaginable.
NewsTalk: 90Mon - Thu, 6:30pm - 8pm
Tune in for 30 minutes of the dayUs news, followed by an hour of talk (see descriptions below).
Arts CornerMon, 7pm - 8pm
In just 60 minutes a week, you can keep informed of all the latest developments in the Boston Area arts scene. We cover everything from movies to theatre to concerts to new music and book releases. Listen and you not only get up-to-date information on the Boston area scene, but you may also win free tickets or other prizes.
Sportside CafeTue, midnight - 2am
We bring you a cure for post-Monday night football withdrawl. Call in to our panel show dealing with the wide world of sports.
Bottom UpTue, 7pm - 8pm
While most of the modern world works top-down, this innovatively formatted call-in talk show works bottom-up. Listen, get the feel of it, and call in.
Open LinesWed - Thu, midnight - 2am
Listen and gain an entirely new perspective on the issue du jour. Whatever the topic is, youUll never think of it in quite the same way again.

This call-in talk show gives members of both the Brandeis and the Waltham communities a chance to ask straight questions and get straight answers from the people who run the university.
Sportsnight ConversationsThu, 7pm - 8pm
The Thursday talk segment of NewsTalk: 90 gives the athletic arm of Brandeis University a chance to tell the world what they are all about. Listen each week for a unique perspective from a different guest.
Brandeis Student SenateSun, 7pm - 10pm
The whole country can watch the U.S. Senate on CPSPAN, but the Brandeis Student Senate is available exclusively on WBRS. Tune in and hear the real-life drama.
