The City of Dallas Is Experiencing One of the Worst Sports Years Ever

Dallas Mavericks: Last year Cuban's Crew was up 2-0 against the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals, then proceeded to lose the next four games. Then after winning 67 games this regular season, they collapse and lose to Golden State in six, in the greatest upset in NBA history.

Dallas Cowboys: Tony Romo's hold...enough said.

Dallas Stars: Last year the 2-seeded Stars lose in 5 games in the first round to the 7-seeded Colorado Avalanche. Then this year, after finding themselves down 3-1 to Vancouver, go on to win the next two only to come up short in game 7.

Texas Rangers: The Texas Rangers are currently 10-18, the third worst record in all of baseball. Apparently the Buck Showalter effect isn't real. I guess Arizona and New York were actually just good teams. Oh, and at 7 million dollars, their third highest paid player on the team this year is Alex Rodriguez, who is on pace to have one of the best seasons in baseball history....for the New York Yankees.

Haha. Nice stat with ARod. Minnesota sports have struggled too. U of Minn. sports all-around were bad this year...the vikes were wonderfully horrible and the Wild were decent. It's up to the Twins to decide their state's sporting fate this year.

Try living in Buffalo or Cleveland, big guy. They've been experiencing one of the worst sports half-centuries ever.

Wow, I never realized how bad of a year it has been for Dallas. Just think, 7 more months to go!

At least the Cowboys beat the World Champion Colts, killing their perfect record as well.

At least Dallas has all the major professional sports. I'd be nice to see them all throughout the season.

I'm in Jacksonville so I get only the Jaguars and two left feet Leftwich hacking the ball down the field.

I have lived all over the US.
In Pitt for four superbowls
In STL for three World Series
In Denver for three superbowls
In Dallas for 3 SBs and one stanley cup
in Philly for one SB
and back in Dallas to stay

Of all those cities I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. I love Dallas, the weather, the crazy sports owners who would kill to win.

Bad year but we have had good ones. Ask San Diego, Cleveland, Buffalo and all the other major cities what they would give for those wins and good weather in the winter.

Can't stand NY sports and the writers up there. I love watching the weather when it is 70 here in Jan and 24 in the east.

Hey, don't forget AZ, Bidwell is a bigger loser than and we were glad to see him leave STL

Feeling for you. LA hasn't been having a great year either, with the Lakers losing in the first round, Clippers missing the playoffs, USC losing and missing the championship game, the Kings finishing at the bottom of the division. Oh well, at least the "Los Angeles" Angels of Anaheim seem to be doing well.

I guess I really don't understand how having three out of your four teams making it in the postseason in THE SAME YEAR counts as a bad season. As a Clevelander, I'm excited to finally have two potential condenders this year. Good luck next season though, I was really rooting for Cavs-Mavs

Well it is more about the fact that they failed to meet expectations, and in particular how they failed.

some tough losses, but you can also argue that three of its four major sports teams made the playoffs, making it a damn good year for the city.

Other cities, say Milwaukee or something, didn't have a playoff team in the last sports calendar year.

I concur. I've been trying to explain this to people around me who cannot understand what I'm going through. Sports are dead to me...for now.
