My NBA Awards Ballot
Let's just go straight to it...
Most Valuable Player
MVP: Dirk Nowitzki
Runner-Up: Steve Nash
Surprisingly enough, Nash's 2007 season was even better than his previous two MVP seasons. However, I think the voters will have a problem with giving Steve Nash 3 MVPS in a row. Besides, Dirk has been fantastic this season and more importantly he lead his team to 67 wins and one of the best regular seasons ever.
Rookie of the Year:
ROY: Brandon Roy
Runner-Up: Andrea Bargnani
A no-brainer here. Roy was clearly the best and most productive rookie this season.
Coach of the Year:
COY: Avery Johnson
Runner-Up: Sam Mitchell
I was about to give it to Sam Mitchell. Then I remembered his team plays in the East. By the way, did anybody else notice Avery's all-time coaching record is 143-39?
Most Improved Player:
MIP: Monta Ellis
Runner-Up: Kevin Martin
Both candidates are worthy of the award but I'm giving it to Ellis cause without him I don't think the Warriors are in the playoffs.
Defensive Player of the Year:
DPY: Marcus Camby
Runner-Up: Bruce Bowen
I honestly believed the season Marcus Camby plays a full season is the season he wins Defensive Player of the Year. He came close enough tallying 70 games this year. And nobody can deny this award to a guy who averaged 11.7 RPG, 3.3 BPG, and 1.2 SPG.
6th Man of the Year:
6MOY: Leandro Barbosa
Runner-Up: Manu Ginobli
Whenever Steve Nash checks out of the game the Phoenix Suns miss a beat. If anyone other backup point guard besides Barbosa was replacing Nash, that small beat would become something far more catastrophic.

1 Comments:
Drop Carmelo and put Luol Deng on that 2nd team squad.
For Coach, I think Don Nelson has to be in consideration.
Other than that, solid pics.
