Putting Things Into Perspective: The Jump
When watching professional athletes compete do we as fans ever sit back and really comprehend just how athletically freaky these guys are? Well the video above, of Arizona Cardinals strong safety Adrian Wilson, will not only humble you but also put things into perspective. In the clip, Wilson jumps a 66 inch bar after taking just a three-step start. It looks so easy. At the same time the effortless jump is more proof of why the players play and why us, the viewers, view from a distance.

Ballin!
WOW... that is ridiculous.
i've totally done that before.
Yeah well, Jack Bauer could have done that twice. From standing.
But seriously, WOW.
So he could jump over Turetsky?
Jack Bauer? Please. Chuck Norris wouldn't have had to even jump. Even a bar knows better than to get in Chuck Norris' way.
I saw this recently on youtube and could'nt believe it. Kind of makes you rethink when your watching a game and throw out the "even I could have made that pass."
The best thing about this clip is the comments section on YouTube; it quickly devolves into the most asshatish discussion of race I've ever seen.
You are absolutely right. I did not notice that, it is quite absurd. Of course I, nor anyone associated with this blog, advocates any of those statements on youtube...in fact we condemn them.
Jack Bauer bought himself a cat and named it 'Chuck Norris,' 'cause next to him, Chuck Norris is a pussy.
and so on and so on...
