Conference Championship Weekend

Well...we should all be working for ESPN really. Or at least that was the case last weekend when we all did better with our NFL picks than most of the ESPN supposed "experts".
Here are the standings from last week:
Mini Me 4-0
Easy 4-0
Twins15 3-1
Turetsky 3-1
Sanchez 3-1
MC 3-1
Jason 3-1
Danny 2-2
But that is the past and this weekend there is the potential for two great games. And with that our picks are below...
Sunday, January 21
New Orleans @ Chicago 3:00 ET, FOX
New Orleans - Mini Me, Young Daniel, Easy
Chicago - MC
New England @ Indianapolis 6:30 ET, CBS
New England -
Indianapolis - MC (via a Adam Vinatieri game winning field goal), Young Daniel, Easy, Mini Me

Ahem...I believe I called the Vinaterri FG
Pats - via the Gostkowski game winning FG
Saints - via Grossman

I was 3-1 last weekend! I made my picks one day at a time, so I guess you only caught the two I gave you in my comment. Anyway, I got New England and New Orleans, my original Super Bowl pick I made Week 16. Brady owns Manning in the playoffs.
I will update the standings!
New Orleans vs. Indy
-Darren from SportsAgentBlog.com
new orleans and indy.
risky?
naw.
Saints 27-20.
Colts 34-31.
lol riggster ('Saints via Grossman')
My picks are:
Saints with a shutout
Patriots
(my heart says Indy, my head says Pats)
NO 27, CHI 17- Hester returns a punt for a TD, but NO controls the clock and wears down the CHI defense
NE 23, IND 17 in a game that doesn't come down to the leg of Vinatieri or Gotskowski
OTHER RANDOM PREDICTIONS
- Someone in some postgame press conference will be complaining about crappy officiating.
- Joe Buck will ask if the 20 yardline is further away from the endzone than the 10 yardline
- Commercial Scorecard
Peyton Manning 20+ times shown (ts)
Robot Boxing 10 ts
"Our Country" 7 ts
Haha boston7066. Very funny on the commercial joke.

For the sake of new blog Awful Officiating... let's hope so.

Colts and Saints
Saints will win, the Pats will win (though it will be close)...
Anthony - the Oriole Post
Clearly the Bears and the Patriots will win. This proves that the home team and the quality of he QB's are not the most important factors in the outcome of these two games. Instead, the deciding factor is which team is more capable of championship defense. That answer presents itself in an obvious fashion when one examines the season records.
More importantly....it looks like Parcels will stay in Dallas...as he has booked a flight to the Senior Bowl to evaluate the players... http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/9944160
Verdant,
the obvious question is....do you even want him back?
I can't speak for Verdant, but I can tell you how I feel about the matter...I don't want him back. I thought after the Saints he was outcoached in the remaining 4 games of the season. Sean Payton really wrote the "How to Beat the Cowboys" book and apparently other teams read it. Against the Seahawks they had a rookie CB, a safety and a guy who was a loan officer all year playing CB for them. Yet Parcells went conservative and not once did he call for Romo to throw the deep ball and test that very very very weak secondary. I think if we had done that it never would have come to having to kick a field goal to win the game. Also, I don't like the manner in which he handled the Terrell Owens (not referring to him by name) or Tony Romo (speaking down about him in front of the media, which in essence certainly couldn't have helped his confidence).
Wow...was I the only 2-0 one here?
Standings for Sunday's games:
MC 2-0
Mini Me 1-1
Young Daniel 1-1
Easy 1-1
Darren 1-1
Tim 1-1
Twins15 1-1
Turetsky 1-1
Verdant 1-1
Maryland Orioles' Fan 0-2
Riggster 0-2
Jason 0-2
Sanchez 0-2
Boston 0-2
Congrats MC!
Is the best basketball team in Virginia Tech ???
I think they are a solid team. I don't think they are the best team in the country, at least not now. But they sure can play with anyone in the country. Their 3-0 record against top 25 teams this year (including wins over #1 UNC and #5 Duke) prove they are a quality basketball team.
