Matsuzaka to Play In The U.S.

The first time WBRS Sports Blog was linked on Deadspin the post was in regard to a Japanese pitcher named Daisuke Matsuzaka. Matsuzaka isn't your typical pitcher...The gyroball throwing phenom not only has outstanding numbers but also has ridiculous stamina. He once threw 250 pitches in a single game! Yesterday Matsuzaka was granted permission by the Seibu Lions to pursue a career in the Major Leagues.
If Matsuzaka's name rings a bell but you aren't sure why, it might be because he was the MVP in the inaugural World Baseball Classic.
My question to you is this...What team will Matsuzaka end up signing with?

I'm afraid the Yankees will go big after this guy. With their sorry starting pitching staff they're desperate to pay big bucks for him. Playing in a big market with a lot of Japanese people will be more attractive. Plus having Matsui maybe talking in his ear about playing there will influnce him. My guess is the Yankees.
I'd also expect the Yankees and Mariners to be the biggest players in this market.
I wonder if a team like the Rangers will attempt to go after him. However with the Yankees needing pitching, I can't see them being outbid.
Mariners. No way Nintendo lets him get by.
Mariners are my guess. But wow, isn't the posting fee like $25 million for whatever team signs him, and that's not even counting the contract?
can this guy start 3 days in a row? The rangers need 5 starters and he can throw 250 pitches?
I assume he can't start 3 days in a row on a consistent basis, but it seems if he were in a playoff series he would have no problem going on 3 days rest.
The Rangers signing him? I like the way you are thinking Dr. Evil.
