Season Over...now what?

Well there goes the season...I thought the series was poorly officiated. Some of my friends insisted the NBA was conspiring against Mark Cuban. I think that is ludicrous. And even though I felt the refs didn't do a good job, I don't want to make excuses for my Mavericks. They won two games this series, but easily could have won five...However that is not the case....I tip my hat to the Heat, the champs.

It's good for your soul to invest in something that you can't control...I love you Mavericks.

--------------
UPDATE: Like I said, I don't want to complain and bitch about bad refs. But someone else did, and apparently they have video of 5 phantom fouls that occurred during game 7.

Sorry bro. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Just make sure whenever you lose you pick yourself up. Cause that is the first step towards winning again.

My condolences on the Mavs. Miami was just a bunch of whining babies that no one liked. Its too bad that they won. The bottom line though is that in the Finals, one truly dominant player can make all the difference and Wade just took his game to an all time level. Even if some of the foul calls were BS, Wade still had to make the free throws. Dallas just had no answer for him and that's what did them in. But as long as they have Avery Johnson and Cuban's money, they'll be still be a contender for years.

Knicks in '07!!!.... as in 2107

How can anyone say that the Heat are whining babies? All the Mavs did all series was cry about the officiating while Dwyane Wade played basketball. Refs will never reward a three point shooting team who cries all game, every game. The Mavs need to look in the mirror and realize that they just threw away their best opportunity to win a championship. It was one of the worst collapses in NBA Finals history. We were watching the Mavs of old since the 4th quarter of game and like the Mavs of old, it is always somebody else's fault.

Danny you can have your Mav-hating rants, but the officiating in the finals was atrocious. I'm not sure I've ever felt that sick after a non-steelers related game and it wasn't because I was rooting for the Mavs--I just felt ashamed as a sports fan to have witnessed such lobsided officiating. Yes the Heat played well and maybe they did deserve to win, but they should not have won because Dywayne Wade's superhuman ability to draw phantom foul calls in the final minute of games.

Should the Mavs have won games 5 and 6? Yes. They easily could have, but they lost both. However, it is worth mentioning that after the Mavs blew big leads in both of those games, they were still in the game in the final seconds. Yet in both games Dwayne Wade drew phantom fouls...first the out of control shot he tossed up in game 5 and then in game 6 when he was dribbling the ball and decided to throw his forearm into Dirk's chest, yet somehow the foul was on Dirk. What happened to the old adage of letting the player's decide the game? Sure the Mavs should have won those games because they were up at some point in the game both times, but regardless in the end the refs made two horrible calls, ensuring Miami victories.

Easy, to continue my Mavs bashing, it was an extremely classless move by Mavs fans to boo Commissioner David Stern. It wasn't his fault Dirk forgot there were four quarters in an elimination game and Josh Howard is too stupid to realize when to call a timeout.

WOW! This is the kind of hostility and tension this blog needs! I am not going to deny that Josh Howard isn't exactly the sharpest man on the face of the earth, as he did fail to reach the four digit mark on his SATs. I don't think I would have booed Stern, but I certainly would have either left the building by then or remained in my seat due to shock from the Mavs' collapse.

Danny you might enjoy this page 2 article, recommending Cuban be banned from NBA Arenas for 13 games I think...check it out.
