USA, Dominican Republic win!
I am not sure if anyone actually cares about the World Baseball Classic, but the U.S. won 2-0 today over Mexico and the Dominican Republic defeated Venezuela 11-5. The US' next game is tomorrow at 4 ET versus Canada! The game should be broadcasted on either ESPN or ESPN2.

I don't even like baseball, but I am glad that USA won!
I wasn't expecting to have any interest in the WBC after all the drop outs, but as it turns out, Bud Selig looks smart. Seeing some of the top players in the world wearing the red, white, and blue is great. It will be amazing to watch the U.S play against the Dominican. Just hope nobody gets injured.
I agree Danny! It was pretty fun watching today! If someone gets seriously hurt though than Selig will look like a fool. I also am curious to see if US fans get as excited in the later rounds as the DR fans and the Venezuelan fans looked today.
I sure hope so. We need to show some country spirit like others do. Just look at how depressing the Olympics were. It's embarrasing: we just expect to win everything and think we're the best at all sports. Note to the U.S: we're not.
I think Canada is going to take this match up easily. After the way they played the South African team, I mean who can realistically stop them...certainly not the weak Americans.
Mr Canada...please don't make me laugh that early in the morning...it hurts the right side of my stomach! In all seriousness though, the U.S. didn't look all that good offensively versus Mexico. Two runs off of two solo shots and the US team only collected 6 hits. If their offense continues to not produce than I think it is very possible a team like Canada could steal a game versus the US. The US' lack of offensive productivity surely won't be enough versus a team like the Dominican Republic. I was impressed with their pitching though. The pitch limits enforced in the WBC encourages the use of more relievers and that is Team USA's strength.
Just as I predicted...what a victory for Canada. What is happening to American sports eh?
I am embarrassed...when was the last time an American team dominated in an international event? I honestly can't remember off of the top of my head and that is sad.
