NCAA Tournament Preview
If you tune into the Overtime show tonight from midnight to 2 am expect to hear a lot of NCAA Tournament preview talk. Not only will we be discussing who deserves the 1 seeds but also debating the final at large spots available in the tournament, and if they should go to mid-major teams or major conference teams. We will also unveil some of our sleepers and overrated high seeded teams that might make an early exit this year.
As of now my #1 seeds are: Connecticut, Villanova, Memphis and Duke. However that can easily change this week based on how these teams perform in their respective conference tournaments. If Memphis doesn't win CUSA I don't see them being a number 1 and Duke has been struggling lately and if they fall early in the ACC tournament I could see them lossing their 1 seed. Possible teams that can earn a number 1 seed with their play this weekend: Ohio State and Texas.

I will be cheering for the Wichita State Shockers!
If Memphis is a number 1 seed, they may be one of the worst one seeds in a long time. Any team that can pound the ball down low could upset them early. Memphis and Gonzaga are the two most overrated teams in this tourney.
Danny I agree Memphis is overrated to an extent but their credentials aren't as bad as they seem. Yes they are in a very very weak conference, however they did "take care of business". What we really have to look at is their non-conference schedule. They defeated Gonzaga, Tennessee, UAB, Alabama, and Cincinnati. Meanwhile, their losses are all quality losses, @ Duke by 3, Texas by 11, @ UAB by 6. Do I think they are overrated? Yes. Given the circumstances do I think they have an argument for being awarded the last #1 seed? Yes.
I don't think Memphis is truely overrated. The only reason one would think so is that they play in Conference USA. The only thing that Memphis has going against them is their youth. They have more athleticism than any team in the country, but sometimes they don't play smart offensively and fire away too many three pointers. A structured team can beat them, but then again, a structured team that doesn't turn the ball over can also beat Villanova, and nobody is calling them overrated. With the right draw, Memphis can certainly make a long run, but in a year where all the top seeds have their faults (except maybe for Connecticut), the draw of the tournament will be key.

By the way, I'm linking this blog. Nice work!
I definitely agree that they have taken care of business and done everything asked of them. I'm just saying when they play a team of their talent level, do they have what it takes to win? The game of basketball is about a lot more than just athleticism. They have to be able to guard and they rely too much on the 3 point shot. Villanova is not really the same because they will be used to those grind it out games. They have played in the big east where every game is a battle.
Perhaps the better word to describe Memphis is not overrated but unproven.
